DATHINI MZAYIYA 

Dathini Mzayiya (b. 1979) attended art classes at the Community Arts Project in Cape Town (2000) and has been working as an artist ever since. His work has been shown both nationally and internationally including venues such as the Iziko National Gallery, AVA, and the Bag Factory Arts Studios amongst many others. The artist has worked extensively throughout Southern Africa and has also had artist residencies and exhibitions in Kenya, Liberia, Ethiopia, Germany, Austria, and Holland. Dathini Mzayiya is a founding member of various art institutions, networks, and collectives namely: Visual Arts Network South Africa (VANSA Western Cape), Africa South Arts Initiative (ASAI), Gugulective. He has also served in various artists committees and has been a mentor for children’s art in schools and Santam‘s Children Art Competition. He is passionate about social work and spends a significant portion of the year imparting his skills in different community interventions.
