SUE PAM-GRANT

Sue Pam-Grant is a transdisciplinary artist whose practice spans the visual arts; performance; theatre and film making. In her work; she examines the precarious point at which human fragility and resilience meet; connect; and clash. Using her many forms of expression; she mines her autobiography; mapping; tracking and unpacking herself in a continuously unfolding narrative.

‘Breathing with a different kind of Happiness.’
“Art is something that makes you breathe with a different kind of Happiness” (Artist, Anni Albers)

Sukoshizutu (little by little) is a Japanese expression for the idea of revealing something gradually, the slow unfolding of a story - the slow unfolding of a feeling - the slow unfolding of self…

This idea is represented in these two works, ‘Your Accordian Heart’ and ‘Octopus Odyssey’ in the continuity of continuous unfolding marks that excavate and mine the depths of the psyche.
‘Your Accordian Heart’ bellows his infinite breath of desire and the ‘Octopus Odyssey’ opens a world of erotic possibilities in the seabed of its dream world… But the Odyssey of both these explorations can only be fully imagined when we allow ourselves to take time to pause and embed ourselves in each small increment of each newly discovered moment. Little by little, we will come to know the unfolding stories in their full depth and raw honesty.

This is when we can experience the fragile beauty of an unfolding truth and ‘breathe with a different kind of happiness’.
