Lauren Ratcliffe is a contemporary South African artist whose paintings explore the emotional life of interior spaces.

Working in oils, acrylics and ink, she createds psychologically charged rooms, chairs and everyday objects that become quiet witness to memory, absense and human connection.

Rather than documentaing a place, her paintings capture what lingers after people have left. Through saturation, layered surfaces and softened edges, familiar domestic spaces seem to vibrate with traces if conversation, comfort, longing and belonging.
