LARA FRANCES

.jpg)

In 2023, Lara Frances found herself in a situation where she was forced to slow down and rethink her priorities after receiving a health diagnosis. Throughout this time of healing and personal reflection, she had reawakened her passion for artistic expression.
She had after this, dedicated herself to her art on a full-time basis, finding joy in capturing the vibrancy of colours and the dynamic movements of the natural world. She works primarily in acrylic, gouache, and oils on canvas or paper, through which she aims to translate the essence of animals.
Frances focuses on the uninhibited spirit and the honest nature of animals, which she finds deeply relatable and regards this as a reflection of both her own resilience and vulnerability.
Animals in her work are shown rather lightheartedly–a celebration of their unique personalities and the wonder they bring to the natural world. Lara’s work explores the interplay of texture and colour embracing the unexpected transformations that happen when colours blend.
“I find joy in the illusion of movement and don't strive for perfection, allowing the process to guide the direction”.
