Janet Dirksen worked in the textile industry for many years before she enjoyed “the privilege of painting full-time”.

‘I live in Prince Albert and the Karoo’s vast open space which provides me with infinite inspiration. I am fascinated by the way that light can radically change the character and impact and make something unique of a subject. I enjoy the richness and depth of colour that can be achieved working with oil paint. I paint from the heart and use brushstroke to create life in my painting.’
