Van Rensburg specialize in hand made table-ware made from high-fired earthenware clay, decorated in bright colours with simple design as a focus point in her work.
Shapes, colours and patterns in her work are derived and influenced from Africa. The pieces Van Rensburg creates are unique and original – determined not to follow the commercial route, no two pieces will be the same. Each item is made by hand, adding to the distinct “organic” feel and elaborate on the uniqueness and original aspects of these ceramics.
The table-ware range consists of dinner plates, side plates, soup bowls and platters. Adding to the mentioned product range, Van Rensburg also creates decorative sculptural vases.
Being an active teacher and ceramist, Van Rensburg participated in several group exhibitions in South Africa and the receiver of the Corobrik Handbuilt Award in 1990 for ceramics.
Currently Van Rensburg lives and works from her studio in Franschhoek.
