Farah creates unique and individual porcelain pieces where the emphasis is placed on illustration, leaving the shapes simple and clean.
Farah Hernandez is a Spanish illustrator who took residence in South Africa in 2004, and started working in clay, porcelain and other mediums, opening up a studio (FH Porcelain) in Cape Town too.
She uses porcelain as her canvas, creating beautiful once-off items. Her artworks are unadorned, beautiful, handcrafted and wafer-thin illustrated porcelain pieces. Her style is reminiscent of classic blue porcelain imagery with a modern translation.
FH Porcelain which started in late 2012, and in 2013 was featured as an Emerging Creative at Design Indaba Expo, She was also selected as part of the CCDI Hand Made Collection for that year.
She moved back to Spain in 2015.
